The Perfect Green Field

Today I talked my husband into going on a scavenger hunt...... for the perfect green field. 

With our newly acquired antique couch loaded in the back of the truck we headed out driving down some back country roads to find a beautiful green field away from busy traffic.

We found one.

Our little helpers scurried around while we set the couch on wooden blocks at the edge of the field.

They picked up sticks and rocks and got their feet completely covered in mud, uh oh.

The couch looked great surrounded by the lush flowing green of the field under the perfect overcast sky....... until.... Zoe came running to see mommy and bounded up onto the couch, muddy feet and all!!!

Oh, well.... the shoot must go on.

I'll clean that at home. In the mean time let's have the girls play in the back of daddy's truck.

Just gotta get myself organized here.

No babe, I'm not ready for you to start clicking photos yet.

 Was there a breeze when we got here, cause it won't stop blowing my hair in my face right now.

Ok, ok..... I think we got one that will work. Yay!

Now the other fifty or so photos of me making stupid faces and pushing my hair out of my face can be filed away in a folder (or deleted).

Thanks to my hubby and my kiddos for making this photo shoot a total laugh about it later adventure.

My Newly Re-organized Studio

This room has experienced many changes over the past few years to accommodate my ever growing collection of "things I need" and "stuff I've made".

So, as mentioned in my earlier post, here are the pictures of my most recent re-organizing efforts:

Maybe I can keep it nice and neat.......
at least when I'm not in the middle of a dozen different projects anyway.

Draw With Me

Daddy's brother came to town to visit for a couple of days and one evening while they hung out and entertained our youngest daughter with toys and books in the living room my big girl and I did some art making in the studio.



 We took some pages from an old dictionary and started sketching.

I love the way these colorful drawings look on book pages.

A Sophisticated Little Girl's Bedroom.... With Horses!

I worked this week on painting lovely custom silhouettes of horses.

I designed the silhouettes of the little girl to resemble the sweet girl who calls this room her own, and I'm very pleased with the way it all came together.

Thank you Tenneil for inviting me to be a part of this special room design.

To begin, I worked a few drawings of what the client wanted. Once they were ready and approved I projected the finished artworks on the wall to get the perfect size and position and sketched them with a white pencil.

Then I began painting. I used two coats of a water borne alkline interior paint. 

The end result is a beautiful statement piece for a lovely growing young girl's room.

I love the way it looks with the other colors and patterns in the room.

Remember this bedding set I created back in December. ;)

New Art on My Daughter's Wall

I've had this mixed media portrait of my daughter sitting in my art studio for at least a couple of years now and I'm happy to say I finally got it framed and hung in her room thanks to the help of my sweet & talented handy-man husband.

In the Studio this Week....

It's been busy and I haven't been posting pics like I should, so I wanted to give a little sneak peak into what's been going on in my studio that's kept me away from my blog (pics & new posts to follow):

• I've done some major spring cleaning and re-arranging in my Art Studio
• Been working on custom paintings in a little girl's bedroom
• Sat down and did some sewing (a table cover and next turning jeans into skirts)
• Framing  & hanging some paintings in my home
• New hair accessory creation for Carley
• and working on some new tutorials to post.... I promise, they are coming soon.
