Geography Classroom Makeover

So, my hubby has a new classroom at the new high school this year where he will be teaching Geography. I love Geography and wanted to do something special for him to get the year off to a great start.

He works so hard and I'm so proud of him and thankful for all he does. Since he has been very busy with Football and back to school meetings, scrimmages, practices and all of those fun time consuming things I decided to give his room a little makeover. We were able to work together for a couple of hours before he had to leave for a scrimmage and it was fun to have that time together while grandma kept the kiddos.

Here is a visual tour of the way it was, the artworks I surprised him with, and the end result:

It was fun to surprise him with this special artwork. I love the quote I found to go with it!

These hanging globes were inspired by my obsessive love of Pinterest crafts!

And here's how it all came together:

Summer 2012 in Review...Post #4 Screen Printing for a Cause

My first opportunity to use my screen printing skills for a great cause came toward the beginning of this summer while doing early moring boot camp with my friends from First Anna. We were training hard with our fearless leaders Crystal and Andrea (who are awesome by the way!) to do a 5K run that would raise money for a very special missionary. This missionary, Mandi, is a friend of theirs who sold everything she owned and followed the Lord's leading to move to Cambodia and share the Gospel and the Love of Jesus.

So the first project was creating t-shirts to wear for our run.

To learn more about the ministry and work that Mandi is doing please visit her website http://www.mandisilvers.com or follow her on facebook http://facebook.com/mandi.silvers1.

My second screen printing for a cause project came just recently when I had the opportunity to design a t-shirt to promote a very exciting event.... our fall 2012 Women's Conference. I'm so thrilled to be a part of this conference where there will be some amazing speakers, fellowship and worship.

*Side Note: I will be leading a painting class for the women at the conference, yay!

Check out more information on this event

Summer 2012 in Review... Post #3 Art Camp

Another super exciting part of my summer was Art Camp 2012!

I had the opportunity to lead a three day camp full of all kinds of art projects for kids ages K-5th grade. We drew pictures with glue, made fish out of clay, cut papter and created collages, got messy fingers with pastels and painted with watercolors and acrylics! It was awesome, and I can't wait to do it again next summer!

Summer 2012 in Review.....Post #2 Photo Shoots

Here's a peek at a couple of the photo shoots I've worked on just this past month.

Newborn photos are so precious to me and it is such a privilege to get to photograph these brand new little miracles and their loving familes.

We had the most fun on this family photo shoot. What an incredible family, so beautiful and full of joy!

We ventured out to Luscombe Farms nestled in the rolling hills and trees on the side of a winding country road in Anna, TX. The farm is a perfect setting for photo shoots throughout the year and I'm in love with all of the gorgeous backdrops and unique photo opportunities it provides. The farm itself is a quaint country place that local residents should certainly take advantage of visiting. They specialize in gourmet gift baskets, event hosting and their special award winning pepper jelly, salsa, honey, and pies.

Summer 2012 in Review....Post #1 Blog Interview

Wow! What an incredible summer!

The activities haven't slowed down just yet, but we are mentally preparing for "school mode" at my house. The "hubs" is back in the grind with coaching duties and two-a-days and we are squeezing in as many trips to the pool, sleep overs, movie nights and fun stuff as we can before we get into our Fall school-time routines.

I must apologize for taking such a long break from blogging..... but I gotta admit, I was waaaay too busy to worry about it too much.

Which also means I have a LOT of cool projects to share!
More on those very soon.

In the meantime, I recently became acquainted with a talented young artist & blogger named Gabrielle. We hit it off right from the start since we share two very special passions: the joy of creating and enjoying Art and all things artistic, and a deep faith in God. Gabrielle asked me if I would do an interview with her for the "Meet the Artist" portion of her blog and I was honored to participate. Thank you Gabrielle! I look forward to following your blog.
